CRAFTING COMPELLING NARRATIVES
Michael started to write at a young age and at 19 had his first 3 act play staged at University.
During his college years he continued to develop and write both stage plays and screenplays. He started to shoot and direct his own independent film shorts.
He continues to this day to develop his own material.
Michael's interest and roots are based on the classics; Shakespeare, Chekov, Williams, Miller and Pinter. As well as developing a love for contemporary playwrights such as John Logan, David Mamet, Annie Baker, Sam Shepard, Neil LaBute, and Martin McDonagh.
Michael's roots and first writing interests began in American Literature where he gobbled down the works of John Steinbeck, Hemingway, Kerouac, and his now new found favorite Michael Chabon.
As far as film and television go, Michael continues to seek out and discover new talent as well as old; Paddy Chayefsky, Aaron Sorkin, Jill Soloway, Matthew Weiner, Vince Gilligan,Eric Roth, Noah Hawley, Lawrence Kasdan, Paul Schrader and William Goldman, to name just a few.
Michael is a "junkie for the written word."
